All about Mark Making

Have you heard of mark-making?

All it is a term used for the creation of different patterns, lines, textures and shapes. This may be on a piece of paper, on the floor, outside in the garden or on an object or surface. Here's a photo of one of our lovely brand reps mark making in some of our coloured sensory sand.

Mark Making has so many benefits, here are some of them:

⭐Prepares for early writing
⭐Strengthens muscles in the fingers, hand, arm and shoulders.
⭐Inspires creativity
⭐Improves concentration
⭐Provides a way to communicate
⭐Provides a way to express feelings

It is an activity which can be enjoyed by all ages.

It is really easy to set up a mark-making activity. All you need is something to make a mark with and something to make a mark on. Use your imagination and get creative. Here are some ideas on what you could use:

⭐Your hands
⭐Sticks, leaves, flowers
⭐Sponge, loofah, body puff
⭐Foil, cling film, greaseproof paper
⭐Pipe cleaners
⭐Cotton Wool
⭐String
⭐Pens, Pencils, Crayons
⭐Spatulas, Spoons, Forks, Whisks
⭐Carrots, cucumber, potatoes
⭐Toothbrush

Let me know in the comments if you have set up mark making activities for your Mini. What did you do?
